The scientific foundation behind The Burning Rim.
The Burning Rim is based on scientific literature, climate reports,
satellite observations and atmospheric research.
The project integrates data and knowledge from different fields,
including oceanography, atmospheric physics, climate science
and aviation studies.
The aim is to provide a coherent and accessible interpretation
of complex processes affecting the Mediterranean region
and the global climate system.
CLIMATE & OCEAN
Mediterranean climate change, sea surface temperature trends,
ocean heat storage and regional climate projections.
ATMOSPHERE
Vertical structure of the atmosphere, tropopause dynamics,
stratosphere–troposphere exchange and UTLS processes.
AVIATION
Aircraft emissions, atmospheric chemistry, radiative forcing
and the impact of high-altitude pollutants.
